A new Nanos poll shows Canadians are almost perfectly split on how MPs should handle crossing the floor. About a third say they should resign and run in a by-election. Another third say they should be free to switch parties, and the rest think they should sit as independents till the next election. The debate comes after two Conservative MPs recently joined the Liberals, with more by-elections expected later this year. Canada's warning travelers to use extra caution in Cuba, as the island deals with major shortages of power, fuel, and even basic supplies, problems now affecting some resorts. Ottawa says long, planned outages and sudden blackouts can last more than a day, and fuel shortages are stranding visitors and disrupting transit.
