More municipal money is now available for Branford homeowners whose basement flooded after a recent downpour. According to the expositor, an urgent report approved by city councilors at a meeting recommended an additional 150,000 be put into the basement flooding prevention grant program. Just in time for the weekend, the union representing 4,400 flight attendants of WestJet issued a 72-hour strike notice. Now, it does not guarantee flight attendants will hit the pickets, but if they do, it happens early Sunday morning. The union said the two sides remain far apart on key issues.
