Reba McEntire is delving into how she took the reins on her career, particularly after divorcing her ex-husband.
The country music icon, 66, is one of the “most interesting and influential people” in the world to be featured in new episodes of Apple Fitness+ Time to Walk this fall, the company announced last month. McEntire and others will “share stories, photos, and music” to inspire listeners as they get active. Others in the upcoming series include Camila Cabello, Bebe Rexha, Gabrielle Union and more.
McEntire split from her ex-husband and former manager Narvel Blackstock in 2015. McEntire opened up about her production manager and CEO also leaving, and her father died in 2014. The four men McEntire considered her “rock and pillars of my world were gone,” she says in the Time to Walk experience, according to PEOPLE, which had an exclusive first listen to McEntire’s story. The “Fancy” singer explained that she “started taking over signing the checks and then I started realizing how much water cost, and the electric bill, and all the things that was going on in my life…I made the money, I brought it home. So it was a huge, huge change for me.” McEntire also opened up about her personal life experiences. She shared her advice for anyone going through similar situations, declaring “you will survive.”
